The writer and journalist Maxim Biller was born in Prague in 1960 and moved to German with his Russian-Jewish family in 1970 after the violent conclusion of the Prague Spring. He studied literature and philosophy in Munich and Hamburg and completed his studies at the German School of Journalism. Alongside his literary works, Biller writes for various newspapers and magazines as a journalist and columnist. He lives and works in Berlin.
Biller is known for his provocative and insightful novels, essays, and short stories, in which he explores such themes as identity, memory, and cultural diversity. His works have been translated into numerous languages and have gained international recognition.
